About Me

My name is Rachel Halsey and I started my career in tattooing in 2011, starting an apprenticeship at The Grasshopper Tattoo Studio in Harrow, London.

I was in my last month at university when I began, after studying for a BA (Hons) Illustration degree at The University of Westminster.

After 5 years of learning how to tattoo across a vast array of styles, I had built up a wonderful client base of people who liked my Disney themed designs and floral/animal based work.

It was in January 2017 when I began working at a private studio in Hemel Hempstead, called The Crooked Rook. The owner of the studio; Jake X was a long term friend of mine who was an established and esteemed tattoo artist within the industry, gaining awards for his work across his extensive career.
Here I was able to expand my skills further and refine my illustrative style of tattooing that I then became known for.

Thanks to the local tattoo loving community, and with the reach of social media I have been able to expand my client base and am humbled by a wonderful and loyal array of customers (new and old) who visit me from far and wide to get tattooed.

So far in my 14 year career I have had the pleasure of doing several guest spots at tattoo shops across the country, and tattoo conventions alike.
